Started elsewhere in Kolkata in 1916 and shifted to its present site at Belgharia, the students' home has the following wings:
- A hostel, specially meant for poor but meritorious college students, with a library (6342 textbooks) and a prayer hall. Out of the 101 boarders, 73 were maintained free and 2 enjoyed concession this year. About 47% of the year's subscriptions came from the alumni of the Home.
- Shilpapitha, a government-sponsored polytechnic which offers three-year diploma courses in civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and tele-communication engineering. It had 515 students during the year. It has a separate library with 21,476 books, mostly on the subjects concerned. The attached community polytechnic runs 6 extension centres which train poor rural boys and girls in different trades.
- A library (with 14,217 books) and a free reading room for the local public.
- Two outpatient homoeopathic dispensaries (14,152 patients treated during the year).
