The centre was founded in 1903 by Swami Ramakrishnananda (a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna) and shifted to its present premises in 1909.
Activities :
- Vidyarthi Mandiram, a hostel with 90 college students.
- A publication section, mainly for Kannada books: 3 new and 12 reprints were brought out this year.
- A library and a reading room with 9930 books, 28 periodicals, etc.
- Balaka Sangha and Yuvaka Sangha, cultural and recreational centres for boys and young men respectively.
- Daily worship, bhajans, regular discourses, and lectures in the Math and outside.
- Celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda and other religious celebrities.
