This centre, started in 1946, runs the following institutions:
- Vivekananda College, an arts & science postgraduate college for men, with 1857 students. Research scholars work for MPhil and PhD degrees in its Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Botany, and Sanskrit departments. The NSS and NCC units had a large number of students on their rolls. This year, the college library had 86,456 books and 64 periodicals; and scholarships and concessions given to the students amounted to Rs. 32,22,289.
- An evening college (with 973 students) having 3 computer laboratories and a library (with 6112 books).
- A hostel with 210 students.
- A research institute for Vivekananda Studies.
- Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and Swami Ramakrishnananda.
