This centre, situated at the birthplace of Swami Premananda (a monastic disciple of Sri Ramakrishna), was started in 1965 and made a branch in 1986.

Activities of the Math centre :

  1. Free coaching classes and a book bank for 224 boys and 80 girls.

  1. A small library.

  1. A charitable allopathic-cum-homoeopathic dispensary: 13,336
    cases were treated during the year. Besides, medical camps
    were organised.

  1. Self-employment scheme for rural poor.

  1. Welfare work by providing clothes, blankets,
    pecuniary help, etc to the poor people of the area.

  1. Daily worship and regular religious classes.

  1. Celebration of Durga Puja, and the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna,
    Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and Swami
    Premananda. The centre also celebrates, on 24 December, the event
    of 1886 when Swami Vivekananda and eight of his brother-disciples
    took the vows of renunciation before a dhuni (sacred
    fire).

  1. A mobile medical unit, which treated 6320 patients.
