This centre was started in a rented houses in 1956, and was
moved to its own present premises in 1958.
Activities of the Mission centre :
A students’ home for 55 school boys.
A library and a reading room, with 12,760 books, and 54 periodicals and newspapers.

A charitable homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 1128 cases this year.

A free mobile medical unit to serve slum-dwellers in and around Chandigarh (26,968 cases treated this year).


An adult education centre for slum-dwellers (43 students).
The ashrama conducted one eye camp (265 patients were screened; 35 of them were operated on), 89 free ultra sonograms; 2892 school children were screened under child eye care project and 1271 school children under child dental care project.


Religious activities : Spiritual discourses four days a week, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and other saints and prophets, weekly cultural and religious classes for children, and occasional lectures in and around Chandigarh as well as in several cities of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Welfare work by way of distributing blankets, to the needy and providing scholarships and pecuniary help to poor and meritorious students.
