The Math centre was started in 1923.
The Mission centre was founded in 1932.

Activities of the Math centre :

  1. Daily worship and bhajans, and fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan.

  1. Celebration of Kali Puja, Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja and so on,
    and the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada
    Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious personages.

  1. Religious classes in and outside the ashrama premises.

  1. Spiritual retreats for devotees, cultural competitions for students,
    youth conventions and workshops on value education for teachers.



Activities of the Mission centre :

  1. A 69-bed hospital with allopathic and homoeopathic sections.
    1,26,425 outpatients and 3727 inpatients were treated this year.
    Three eye camps conducted at Alibag in Maharashtra; 444 
    patients were treated.

  1. A library and a reading room with 41,009 books, and 101
    periodicals and newspapers.

  1.  

    A rural development project at Sakwar, a village 86 km away,
    with the following activities: (a) a dispensary for tribals which
    treated 30,654 cases this year, (b) a vocational training centre
    for training in tailoring, electrical wiring, carpentry and motor
    mechanics with 92 trainees, (c) an agricultural demonstration
    farm, (d) a library with 4155 books, (e) 2 balawadis (crèches)
    with 73 children, (f) youth camps and women camps, and also
    educational slide shows for school and college students, and
    (g) distribution of educational aids to tribal students.
  1. Welfare work: Distribution of clothing, foodstuff, nutrients, etc.
    to about 79,320 people.
