The house at Thousand Island Park (New York State), named
Vivekananda Cottage, where Swami Vivekananda stayed and gave
his Inspired Talks in 1895, served as a retreat for spiritual culture in
summer. Daily vespers, meditation sessions, scriptural classes, a
summer retreat programme, and a seminar were conducted during
the period, attended by swamis, students and guests.
