This centre, which was started in 1944, is primarily a residential
educational institution for orphans and poor boys. However, a good
number of day-scholars also attend its various schools and colleges.
Activities of the Mission centre :
An orphanage with 533 boys, where general education and training in crafts are provided.
A degree college offering honours and pass courses in science subjects (total 835 students).


A higher secondary school (with a high school section) with 1269 boys.


A junior high school with 631 students.

A junior basic school with 774 students.

A non-formal (junior) school with 65 students and a night school with 23 students.

A residential college of education with 78 students.
A primary teachers’ training institute with 96 students.
An industrial training centre and a higher secondary vocational institute with 126 students.
Vocational training in electrical works, carpentry, composing and printing, tailoring, etc to 27 students.
A hostel for high school boys, with 136 students.

Eight libraries attached to schools and colleges had 88,423 books and 96 newspapers and periodicals besides a wellequipped district library (54,604 books, and 42 newspapers and periodicals) with a mobile unit and an audio-visual unit.
A free homeopathic-cum-allopathic dispensary for public (cases treated: 12,737) and a 52-bed hospital for the students.
Welfare work by way of distribution of clothes, educational aids, blankets, etc and some village development activities.
Religious activities: Daily worship, arati and bhajans, regular discourses, and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other religious luminaries as also Durga Puja, Kali Puja, etc.,
Medical camps at various places of Sundarbans (8270 patients treated) and a blood donation camp (124 persons donated blood). Additional Photos of the Activities of the Centre:
