Started in 1921, this ashrama has reconstructed Sarisha village, mainly by providing education to villagers.

Activities of the Mission centre :

  1. A boys’ higher secondary school with 1098 students, and a
    hostel with 165 boys.

  1. A girls’ madhyamik school with 1072 students, and a hostel
    with 130 girls.

  1. Four units of junior basic school with a total of 287 boys and
    310 girls.

  1. One nursery school with 115 children.

  1. Two units of primary teachers’ training institute for women with 85 trainees.

  1. A technical section for women, which trained 31 girls in weaving etc.

  1. Libraries: The public library with two branches had 25,725 books
    and 9 periodicals and newspapers, and the eight libraries attached
    to schools had 17,037 books and 13 newspapers and periodicals.

  1. Medical service for rural people in collaboration with Seva
    Pratishthan, Kolkata, and a homoeopathic dispensary, which
    treated 5783 cases.

  1. A community centre for women with 46 trainees.

  1. Religious activities : Celebration of the birthdays of Sri
    Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda
    and other religious personalities.
