The Home was started in 1900 and made a branch of the Mission
in 1902.
Activities of the Mission centre :
A general hospital with 226 beds (free beds 11%), having an
operation-theatre-cum-surgical-block; 6384 admissions this year.
An outpatient dispensary, with eye, ENT, dental, paediatric,
gynaecology, neurology, physiotherapy and orthopaedic
departments and a homoeopathic section. 1,59,704 cases were
treated this year. The number of cases dealt with in laboratory,
X-ray, ECG, USG, endoscopy, audiometric and speech therapy
departments were 1,59,704 this year.
A mobile medical unit, which treated 23,899 cases this year.
Two old-age homes, one with 25 men and the other with 41 women.
Welfare work: The centre gave pecuniary help of Rs. 6,43,862
to needy persons, and distributed medicines worth Rs. 18 lakh
(approx.) to the poor and afflicted.
A mobile library with 1532 books which is taken to primary schools in rural areas.
An audio-visual unit which conducted health and hygiene
awareness programmes; 65 films were screened in 163 school
and 259 villages; 36,496 people attended the programmes.
