The ashrama was started in 1939 and made a branch of the Mission in 1968.
Activities :
- A library and a free reading room, with 10,579 books (1373 issued), and 44 newspapers and periodicals.
- A free students' home with 32 tribal boys.
- A dispensary in which 62,160 cases were treated this year.
- A mobile dispensary which treated 52,326 cases (new 50,306) this year.
- The centre has published some books in Assamese language.
- Religious activities : Daily worship, weekly religious classes, observance of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and other religious celebrities.
- Flood relief and welfare work by way of distribution of clothes, blankets, etc.
