The ashrama was started in 1920 and made a branch of the Mission in 1931.
Activities :
- A higher secondary school with 856 students.
- A library and a free reading room, with 23,307 books (issued 22,774), and 97 periodicals and newspapers.
- An outpatient allopathic-cum-homoeopathic polyclinic, which treated 36,067 (new 11,259) cases.
- A mobile medical unit for eye patients, which treated 1723 patients.
- Religious activities included regular spiritual classes, bhajans, and celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and other spiritual personalities, as also some other religious festivals.
