The Math centre was started in 1923.
Activities of the Math centre :
- Daily worship and bhajans, and fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan.
- Celebration of Kali Puja, Ganesh Puja, Durga Puja, and so on, and the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and other religious celebrities.
- Religious classes in and outside the ashrama premises (453 classes this year).
- Spiritual retreats for devotees, and cultural competitions for students.
The Mission centre was founded in 1932.
Activities of the Mission centre :
- A 60-bed hospital with allopathic and homoeopathic sections. 59,237 outpatients and 3190 inpatients were treated this year.
- A library and a reading room with 76,602 books (18,794 issued during the year), and 93 periodicals and dailies.
- Welfare work : 33,000 articles of clothing, a large quantity of foodstuff, and so on were distributed during the year.
- A rural development project at Sakwar, a village 86 km away, with the following activities: (a) a dispensary for Adivasis, which treated 37,156 cases this year, (b) a vocational training centre, (c) an agricultural training centre; (d) 3 village libraries with 947 books, (e) 3 balawadis (crèches) with 109 children, (f) youth camps and women camps, and also educational slide shows for school and college students.
- A sub-centre at Worli (63, Pochkhanwala Road, Worli, Mumbai-400 025; Phone: 2493-9108) with the following activities: (a) Regular lectures, (b) A bookshop, (c) A library with books, periodicals, and dailies.
