This ashrama, situated at Morabadi in Ranchi, was started in 1927 and made a branch of the Mission in 1930.
Activities :
- A library and a reading room with 21,359 books (3735 issued), and 104 newspapers and periodicals.
- A charitable allopathic-cum-homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 18,051 cases (new 11,058).
- A rural health unit, which treated 16,427 cases.
- Divyayan, a free residential institute to which a Krishi Vigyan Kendra has been added. It has been recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. It gives training to village youths, particularly Adivasis, in agriculture, dairy and poultry farming, horticulture, bee-keeping, farm machinery and social service. This year, there were 5919 trainees.
- A microbiology unit, soil testing facilities, and mushroom cultivation training in rural areas.
- Various programmes such as soil and water conservation schemes and non-conventional energy propagation.
- A mobile audio-visual unit.
- 70 night schools with 2830 students and a centre of National Open School (admitted 401).
- The annual kisan mela (agricultural exhibition-cum-fair), cultural competitions, seminars, etc.
- Publication of a Hindi monthly bulletin, Divyayan Samachar.
- Religious and spiritual activities : Regular worship, religious discourses and lectures in and outside the ashrama, and observance of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and other religious celebrities of diverse faiths.
