The Sanatorium, which was opened in 1951 with 32 beds, had 230 beds during the year with several ancillary departments, including a dairy and an agricultural farm.
Activities :
- The inpatient department treated 404 cases (new 296) and discharged 292. Of these, 326 patients were treated free of charge and 78 at concessional rates.
- The outpatient allopathic department treated 25,786 cases (new 6051), most of them free of charge.
- The outpatient homoeopathic department treated 4764 cases (new 1718).
- A mobile dispensary, which treated 31,297 cases.
- A free middle school (Hindi medium) for tribal and backward class children (228 boys and 205 girls).
- A library with 6100 books and 29 newspapers and periodicals.
- Religious activities : Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, and Swami Vivekananda, and religious festivals like Jagaddhatri Puja.
