Started in 1941, this centre runs several institutions. The activities of these institutions are highlighted below.
- Vidyamandira is a residential arts & science degree college—including two applied subjects, termed major courses, in computer application and industrial chemistry—with 386 students. The higher secondary unit (classes XI & XII), which has NCC and NSS units, has 179 students. Regular classes were conducted on The Spiritual Heritage of India for the students during the year.
- Sikshanamandira is a residential BEd college with 164 students.
- Shilpamandira is a government-sponsored polytechnic, providing three-year diploma courses in civil, electrical and mechanical engineering. It had 469 students this year. The community polytechnic attached to it trained 978 students in different trades.
- Shilpayatana has two divisions: a junior technical school (NCVT) with 68 students and a higher secondary vocational section with 78 students.
- Shilpavidyalaya is a technical institute affiliated to NCVT, providing training courses in draughtsmanship, plumbing, electrical works and electronics to 124 students.
- Computer training centre with 716 students in different courses during the year.
- Samaj Sevak Sikshanamandira is a free residential institution for training youths in rural development work, which trained 34 young men this year.
- Janasikshamandira runs 14 non-formal education centres for children. It provides training in tailoring, T.V. repairing, carpentry, book-binding, etc, benefiting 5150 people. It arranges educative films and slide shows with the help of a mobile audio-visual unit and runs a free library that has 24,810 books. It has a mobile unit lending books out to village readers at their homes. The institution also organizes 14 free coaching centres for children and a small savings scheme for poor people. It trained some poor people in making smokeless ovens.
- The production and publication department serves as a small training wing to impart training to some unemployed youths. There is a sales section for the various items produced in this department as well as literature published by different centres and also metal stands and photo-folders.
- Ramakrishna Darshan is a permanent exhibition depicting the life and message of Sri Ramakrishna and the activities of the Math and Mission through clay models, photographs, pictures and write-ups.
- Tattwamandira is the central unit, where religious classes for the public and scriptural classes for the monastic members are held regularly, and Jagaddhatri Puja is performed every year.
