Relief to 891 families in Assam-Meghalaya border areas affected by the recent disturbance

1.  Disturbance Relief: Cherrapunji centre distributed the following items from 31 January to 2 February to 891 families in Assam-Meghalaya border areas (namely, Mendipather, Dist. East Garo Hills, Meghalaya, and Dudhnoi-Krishnai, Dist. Goalpara, Assam) affected by the recent disturbance there:
8300 kg rice, 3260 kg dal, 112 cartons of biscuits, 1400 blankets, 2010 garments and 700 utensil-sets (each set containing 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 tumbler, 1 ladle, 1 cooking pot and 1 jug).

Flood Rehabilitation: Karnataka: The progress report of the construction of houses by Belgaum centre for the victims of October 2009 flood (at Gokak and Sindhanur taluks in Belgaum and Raichur districts respectively) is as follows:

Distress Relief

Distress Relief: The following centres distributed various items, shown in brackets, to needy people: Belgharia (1293 saris, 1143 dhotis, 67 lungis, 1140 shirts, 1140 pants, 1653 children’s garments, etc), Ichapur (500 saris), Jamshedpur (4000 kg rice, 800 kg dal, 400 kg vegetable oil), and Medinipur (140 saris, 60 dhotis, 10 lungis).

Besides, the following centres distributed winter garments to the needy: Almora –10 sets of coats and pants, Belgharia – 103 winter garments, Patna – 500 jackets.
