Swami
Atmasthanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna
Mission, is scheduled to return to Belur Math on 12 April after his
tour of Mumbai, Coimbatore, Varanasi and Allahabad. He is keeping
well.
Swami
Gitanandaji, Vice-President, will be visiting Jamshedpur from 16
to 25 April. He is in good health.
Swami Smarananandaji, Vice-President, is scheduled to return
to Belur Math on 6 April after his tour of Malda, Balurghat, Raiganj,
Siliguri, Chowdhurihat and Cooch Behar. He will be visiting
Chennai, Pune, Satara, Belgaum, Bangalore, Nattarampalli and Mysore
from 10 April to 14 May. He is keeping well.
The
birthday (tithi puja) of Sri Ramakrishna
was celebrated at Belur Math on Sunday, 9 March. Cooked prasad
was served to about 32,000 devotees. Swami Prabhanandaji,
General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission,
presided over the public meeting held in the afternoon. The
public celebration held on Sunday, 16 March, drew more than
1,00,000 visitors who thronged the Math throughout the day.
Cooked prasad was served to about 35,000 persons on that
occasion.

A new branch centre
of the Ramakrishna Mission has been started at
Srinagar
in Jammu & Kashmir with the land, buildings, etc received from Sri
Ramakrishna Ashrama, Srinagar. Its address is: Ramakrishna Mission,

Smarananandaji, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna
Mission, inaugurated the newly constructed building for the
higher secondary school of Malda centre on 16 March.
Swami Smarananandaji,
Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, inaugurated the newly
built Vivekananda Vidya Vihar (a building for school and other service
activities for the poor and the youth) at Sitanagaram campus of Vijayawada
centre on 14 February.
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science
Education (HBCSE), Mumbai, conducts National Standard Examination in
Astronomy every year to select students to participate in the Training
and Selection Camp for International Astronomy Olympiad. Out of the 20
students selected all over India this year, three are from Jharkhand State, and
all these three students of Class X, namely Abhishek Kumar, Akash Anand and
Mayank Raj, are from our Deoghar Vidyapith.

Yogendra Mahto, a student of
Vivekananda University, Belur, studying Agro-based Bio-technology at
the University’s Ranchi (Morabadi) Faculty Centre, has written a
dissertation paper on Organic Production of Oyster Mushroom in India.
He and his
guide have been invited to Germany to make oral presentation of their findings
in the Sixth International Conference on Mushroom Biology and Mushroom
Products being organized by the Institute for Mushroom Research, Krefeld in
Bonn, Germany, in September-October 2008.

meetings organized by Dhaka centre as a part of its six-day Sri
Ramakrishna’s birthday celebration from 9 to 14 March.
Swami
Dayatmanandaji returned to UK after a three-week visit to India.
Swami Paritushtanandaji,
who has been posted to Vedanta Society, New York, USA, as Assistant Minister,
reached there on 24 March.
