Winter Relief:
A total number of 19,284 blankets were distributed
through the following centres to poor people affected by the severity of
winter:

Kanpur - 231, Katihar - 400, Koalpara (Jayrambati)
- 2748, Limbdi - 260, Medinipur - 300, Puri Math -
1000, Purulia - 1500, Rahara - 106, Rajkot - 47,
Ranchi Sanatorium - 529, Sikra Kulingram - 600, Taki -
673, Tamluk - 1000, Varanasi Home of Service - 451.
Besides, the
following centres distributed winter garments, as shown in
brackets: Baranagar Mission (125 chadars, 415
sweaters), Rajkot (63 sweaters), Ranchi Sanatorium
(25 woolen chadars). |

Flood
Relief: West Bengal:
Belgharia centre, as a part of post-flood-relief work,
distributed 1900 biscuit packets, 520 dhotis, 233 shirts,
532 frocks, etc to 765 poor flood-victims in Purba Medinipur district.
Distress Relief:
The following centres distributed various items, shown in
brackets, to poor and needy persons of nearby areas:

In India:
Baranagar Mission (298 saris, 211 dhotis, 15 churidars,
87 pants and shirts, 36 bags), Garbeta (70 dhotis),
Jayrambati (1520 saris), Katihar (food packets to 340
families, 30 cycles, 400 books and stationery to students), Medinipur
(50 saris, 20 dhotis), Rahara (174 saris,
51 dhotis, 120 mosquito-nets, 76 wrappers, 26 litres of coconut
oil, 309 food packets), Ranchi Sanatorium (10 mosquito-nets),
Taki (275 saris, 25 dhotis).
Besides, Katihar centre sunk 30 tube-wells in
nearby villages.
In Bangladesh:
Dinajpur (498 saris, 475 dhotis, 80 other
garments).
Economic Rehabilitation:
The following
centres distributed, under self-employment programme, various items,
shown in brackets, to poor and needy persons of nearby rural areas:
Katihar (4 sewing machines, 15 rickshaws), Tamluk (16 sewing
machines, 16 fishing-nets, 7 rickshaws).
